Job Duties

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes
  • Perform turning, drilling, bar-feeding, and live-tooling operations
  • Optimize setup times and machine utilization
  • Maintain offsets and adjust programs
  • Read blueprints and routing instructions
  • Apply GD&T requirements
  • Inspect parts using calipers and gauges
  • Report nonconforming products
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams
  • Document issues for shift transitions
  • Perform daily preventive-maintenance checks
  • Wear required PPE and follow safety procedures

Requirements

  • CNC lathe setup and operating experience
  • Okuma, Mazak, or Mori experience preferred
  • Knowledge of machining practices and mechanical principles
  • Familiarity with metals, fixtures, and lathe or mill tooling
  • Ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T
  • Proficiency with calipers, gauges, and measuring tools
  • Strong basic math skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot CNC programs
  • Ability to document procedures and complete reports in English
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and position heavy components
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled shop

What You Will Do

As a CNC Operator you will set up, operate, monitor, and adjust CNC machining equipment to manufacture precision components according to engineering specifications. You will verify machine setups, inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, troubleshoot machining issues, maintain tooling, and support quality and production goals while following established safety and manufacturing procedures.

The CNC Operator is responsible for producing precision components using computer-controlled machining equipment while maintaining strict quality standards. This role combines mechanical knowledge, technical expertise, and attention to detail to support manufacturing success.

Successful CNC Operator candidates understand tooling, machining principles, machine setup, and dimensional inspection while maintaining safe and efficient production practices. Accuracy and consistency are essential to long-term success.
